      Authors Bravo and Marin, founders of We Are Knitters, use an upbeat approach for demonstrating how to make wearable and useful hand-knitted items. The patterns are attractively presented within a theme of global travel to six vibrant cities, with tutorials and pattern instructions clearly presented. The first section explains different characteristics of wool and cotton yarns, how they are processed, choosing various fibers, and care of finished projects. There is also coverage of standard knitting tools, basic stitch making, and techniques to combine yarns and stitches for various artistic effects. Fifteen featured patterns offer a range of trendy scarves, hats, sweaters, blankets, and a pillow.
